Philosophy

The disposal of household and commercial solid waste is one of the most critical economic, social and environmental issues facing a consumer based society.

Traditional waste disposal methods, based largely on landfill and incineration have significant adverse environmental impacts. In the face of increasing urban waste generation and the need for society to embrace sustainable waste management, the world is changing in favour of resource recovery from municipal waste. Landfilling of putrescible waste in Europe is being progressively banned. In Germany, for example, putrescible waste was banned from going to landfill from the end of 2004.

It is in this context, and in recognition of the need for a sustainable waste management solution, that Global Renewables was established.
